⁴⁹ Joseph gathered as much grain as the sand of the sea, enormous quantities. There was so much that it could no longer be measured, for it was beyond measure.

⁵⁰ The Great Famine.^[a] Joseph had two sons in the years that preceded the famine. They were born to Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, the priest of On. ⁵¹ Joseph called the firstborn Manasseh for, he said, “God has made me forget all my difficulties and my father’s entire family.”
